One 05/Night

On a may night too innocent to do harm,
Tommy and Mary Anne walked the school halls arm in arm,
They left the rest of their friends to just be alone,
Tommy carefully looked back to see if their absence was shown,
Mary says, "Hold me, Tommy, just for a little while,"
He follows her lead and has an ear to ear smile,
The two hold together oh, so tight as the time got late,
Both saw visions of the other as their perfect mate,
Mary giggles, winks, and sneaks a kiss,
Tommy returns the favor surrounded in pure ignorant bliss,
Hand in hand they run down the hall in and into the dark,
The two had made out before, but only in park,
Against the counter Tommy locked the door,
Before they could think Mary’s clothes hit the floor,
That night they did what they said they would never do,
One thing just led to another not knowing what would ensue,
Tommy stopped after he realized the act was done,
Immediately, growing tense at the thought of a son,
Neither spoke as they sat in the small dim classroom,
Knowing each other would leave for college soon,
Goals and dreams sacrificed for seconds of pleasure,
Both had forgotten the thoughts and feelings that would endure.
