Enigma
Pondering life’s meaning, and wondering if he should,
Watching, listening, and thinking if he should.
What will come and what will go,
What had he done, what was to show.
Seemed an outcast, but wondering if this was so,
He met everything with no smile, friend or foe,
Cautious of most, especially left alone,
Thinking, reciting, fighting wounds not sown.
Wanting to make many a thing right,
Wanting good, but seemed not within sight.
Holding back the feelings of such,
Remorsing wounds scorching to the touch.
Life seemed a mystery, everything a blur,
Everything was in pieces nothing quite sure.
But maybe that’s the beauty,
Not knowing, taking a chance, having no duty.
But with this, something was wrong,
Had to be meaning something quite strong,
Emotions danced, teased, and taught,
That things never seem what they ought.
Nothing, but nothing was not without gap,
It just seemed faultless outside the wrap.
Revised Standard Version
It is often asked if the future is real.
Is the past real? Tangible?
If we are not alive, is the present real?
Only we are overcome with these feelings?
Every sentence is covered by a question mark?
Because how are we suppose to know the truth?
THE STANDARD IS HERE?
Numbers 20
I hit the rock,
I striked the stone with my staff,
In my greed of leadership,
I wanted the people to honor me,
Instead of You, oh, Lord,
My brother and I wanted the esteem,
Of Your people, so they would obey me,
Not you, so I had control,
Not you.

Happiness is. . .
Happiness is finding neat rocks.
Happiness is when my mom is home.
Happiness is knowing that you have all your homework.
Happiness is when you don’t have any homework.
Happiness is summertime.
